Before Christmas we have posadas. We go to someones house and pray and then we eat.
When someone dies we have a Novena. When girls turn fifteen they have a quinceaƱera.
My culture is very important to me. This is what I've learned from my parents and they learned it from their parents and so on. This is what makes us different. It makes us who we really are!

For Christmas my family gathers at someone’s house and we take food, such as tamales and we eat. At midnight we pray and give thanks and then we open our Christmas gifts

1. I am a Christian - Baptist to be exact - and so my obvious Holidays are Easter and Christmas - those are extremely important to myself and my family. The same thing has been happening since I can remember. Both Holidays the family all gathers - we either hunt eggs or open gifts and have a massive family dinner - full blown major 3 or 4 course meal. My parents are always the hostess and everyone comes to our house - my father always cooks - the same thing every year.
2. They are important to us - my father is Catholic and is very traditional. This is something that has been done for years in his family and will probably continue in mine just as my brothers and sisters and their children carry it on by coming to our house every holiday.

Our family is a little dysfunctional and a we all have different beliefs so we dont have any religious traditions. My aunt goes to mass every christmas.
I think tradition in general is important especially in the family sense because we are so distanced from each other these days and tradition bonds us together. traditions are a reminder of our history in this world....
